This is our second visit to the Inn at Salado, and our first stay in the Baylor house. Somewhere along the way we fell in love with this place. When we think of a peaceful and calming time, we think of Salado. The shopping is unique and fun, and the people are warm and sincere. Find the time to sit under the oak tree and relax and relate. This isn’t some posh California, tofu toting, quaint resort- thankfully, its real and it’s fun. Thank to the owner who had the vision, and thanks to the staff who make it happen. The room was warm and cozy. The jetted tub took all the ails away and the beautiful shower completed the process. The view was outstanding and the rocking chairs on the porch finished off the sunset. The comfort of the bed was wonderful and the pillows were divine. We woke refreshed and ready for breakfast. Esther was working hard in the kitchen to make everyone feel at home. The quiche was great, but the waffles took the prize. My hubby loved the biscuits and gravy. The fruit was so fresh and the hot tea and coffee hit the spot. We truly enjoyed every moment here at the Inn at Salado. We intend to come back during the winter. It’s our first time at a B&B. The inn is so beautiful and relaxing. Breakfast was wonderful and our host very hospitable. We plan to walk the grounds more before we checkout and head south for the Texas Hill Country for a couple of days. I’m sure the motel we plan to stay in will be a major change from the solitude and tranquility of the Kolb room. It was great to have a balcony all our own overlooking the courtyard. Another lovely stay at the Inn! We stayed here two years ago, and this time was as great as the last. Mattresses are wonderful- breakfast wonderful-. Nice table and chairs to play Bridge. Love being able to walk to shops. This time we’re from San Antonio and Dallas. We were married here in ’01 and have found the Inn to be as charming now as it was then. We have enjoyed some much needed rest and relaxation (we have a 3 yr. old son and a 1 mo. old daughter who are at home with their nana.) We have enjoyed browsing the shops, looking at Christmas lights, eating dinner at Stagecoach Inn, but most of all we have thoroughly enjoyed being lazy, sitting by the fire reading a good book and just being alone together in this wonderful place. What a retreat! I never knew that such peace and relaxation could be found just off I-35. I’ve driven past many, many times unaware of this haven of rest.
